As a part of this year's International Woman's Day celebration's theme Carrying the Seeds of the Past into the Future we present
The Garden: A Herstory Film Project        Below are some selections of interview complied by participants who interview a different generational female in their family or a female who has inspired them. Each Diy interview was shot using equipment available ot the participant from camcorder to smartphone.

.Schedule a meeting time with your subject and interview them on video. You can use a camcorder or even the videocam on your phone. If you need to borrow a camera a limited number are available for loan so just ask.

ask any five of these questions and record your subjects answers. Follow this link for some practical advice for on how to do a video interview.

Where is your mom’s family from? Where is your dad’s family from? Is there in indio/indiginous  roots? Do you remember any old superstitions or passed down tales?

What were you like as a child? What did you do for fun? What do you do for fun now?

What do/did you do for a living?
Tell me about how you got into your line of work.

How did you meet your husband/wife?


Did music play a significant role in your life? What music do recall enjoying most? Is there a particular memory you associate with a certain song?

Are there any historical events that you lived though that affected your life?
Is there anything you would have done differently if you had the chance?
What are the most important lessons you’ve learned in life?

Have you ever had a spiritual experience? What was it?

after you have recorded all the interview please take a still shoot of you and your subject together.
